I have just picked myself up of the floor after phoning the local Nissan dealer's parts counter!

I was about to fit my ebay bargain priced genuine Nissan wheel arch flares, when I realised that they are intended to be fitted together with Nissan's 'widewheel mudflaps'. Part no's 63850-VB185 (RH) and 63851-VB185(LH). I thought before I called that they would probably be expensive, perhaps $80 or $90 for the pair, but what the heck, it'll 'look right'.

Having given the nice lady the part numbers she quickly looked them up on her computer & came back to me with a price ........ wait for it ........ over $211 .........wait for it ......EACH! $423 for two mud flaps! And they're not even diamond encrusted! Ye gods the world has gone crazy. When I expressed my incredulity she told me that because I sounded like a nice chap (I am) she could do them for $180 something for me. I don't recall the precise 'bargain figure she offered as by then I had lapsed into shock induced selective deafness.

Well obviously I am not stupid enough to pay that kind of money for a pair of mud flaps, but I will still need some wider ones (which are lightweight as part of their support is from the plastic flares).

So what are my best options? What do folks with widewheel packs/factory flares on their GU use to replace lost or damaged factory front wheel mud flaps?

i removed my mud flaps on the front due to excessive scrubbing coming from my tyres, 33x12.5x15 at full lock i still have them lying around if you want them i won't put them back on but they are off a GQ.

Front on mine $128 each brought two uni fit off ebay for $8
Stops mud from flying up side $8 well spent IMO

you might be able to fab up a bracket and fit conveyor to it
or uni truck mudflaps but they are pricey too

when i was up at Tallarook last time i lost a rear mud flap off the GUIV. When i realised i was on a Mission to retrace all our tracks to find it. I kinda Knew where i would have lost it. A couple of the guys came with me and we had to recover BA in the process but found the mud flap right where i thought we would. I knew they'd be bloody expensive!

There should be a few blokes with Series I to III front flaps lying in their shed Cuppa. dont spend your cash on them mate, use something else if you need too.

Conveyor belt, the beginning of all things good!! If you can get hold of enough of the stuff with tread on it, you may also have a recovery device too.

On my GU IV is used a set of Hilux front mudflaps (from my old '98 Hilux) to avoid the tyre rubbing I get from the 33s. A wrecker should do a set cheap I would think, they are "stiff" rather than floppy flaps (....get your mind out of gutter) and thus do not sway in the breeze and get caught up with rotating tyres, but will bend if dragged over rocks or through ruts.

Sounds like the wreckers might be he go then. Don't like the sound of conveyor belt ... too heavy, ok for the rear with a chain support, but I want something lightweight for the fronts.

Any chance of a pic + dimensions of your GQ ones 93Patrol?

Or better still anyone got some series I to III front flaps laying around in the shed that you don't need?
