Fault code 76 or DTC 0706 P6 I presume is a dreaded spill valve fault:
Spill valve (Built-into electronic control fuel injection pump)
does not function properly.
Possible causes:
* Harness or connectors
*Electronic control fuel injection pump circuit is open or shorted
*Electronic control fuel injection pump
Good luck with it, it is usually IP failure.

Thanks Rumcajs,
Is that something common with that model?

Its not that common on Nissan but it is very common for that particular injection pump (VP44).
Have you run out of fuel by any chance in the past? Lack of fuel kills these pumps quickly so running on low, blocked fuel filter, restriction in the pickup pipe or addon filters cause havoc with these.
Ideally there should be lift/supply pump fitted somewhere to supply fuel from the tank as anything bellow 5 psi pressure will start affecting injection pump apparently.

No, the fuel filter was fine and I have never run out of fuel.
What about wiring faults . Is that something that is common or is it more likely the pump itself?
Cheers
