Got me quite a fast leek coming from one of my new tyres.
Can hear the air coming out.
Gonna try to knock the bead of the rim clean it and reset it.

I found a good links for doing this.
http://www.expeditionportal.com/resources/91-guide/704-how-to-reseat-a-4x4-bead.html

Anyone got any other pointers or is this pretty much spot on?

If you have a hi lift jack then place the wheel with the affected bead face up under your rear tow point. Take the valve out. Using the hilift jack, jack the bead down from the tow point until the bead fully lets go, you might need to do it in a couple of spots by rotating the wheel around and jack in a couple of spots.

That will break the affected bead only.

Clean out the bead.

Now place 3 lengths of timber on the ground in a triangle or 4 bricks spaced to support the tyre and not the rim. The rim must be able to float in the middle of the under support.

With the Tyre and not the Rim supported on the wood or bricks connect the compressor and stand on the centre of the rim. This will push the rim down and seat the bead and the compressor will be pushing out and up.

pour a bit of water into the bead if you are having trouble. once its holding air and before the bead does the final seat step off and take a seat ;) Happy days.

All of above if doing at home 16" BMX tube helps seat stubborn tyres or use a large ratchett strap
around the middle forcing tyre onto rim seat surface

A bottle jack and a block of wood or brick to help reach down will work just fine mate

Probably wont need to ratchet strap if you elevate the tyre on some bricks. In the bush you can elevate over a rut ;) works a treat

The ratchet strap is really only needed if BOTH BEADS are off.

if both beads are off sometimes a single ratchet strap still wont work especially if the tyre was distorted, in that case run 2 racket straps, it even outs the pressure & will seal sweet as, had to do exactly that the other might in the mountains
