2011 CRD AFM inspection

I have travelled 62-000kms and my AFM has never been cleaned.

I removed it today and it was not oily or dirty in the slightest, have other late model CRD owners experienced the same thing??

I was thinking of spending the cash and fitting a catch can, but I might give it a miss and monitor the intake piping and AFM for the next 20-000kms and see what progresses.

I have always used genuine Nissan air filter elements, replaced every 7500km and engine oil is a 15w-40 replaced every 7500klm not sure of the manufacturer but I purchase it in bulk from Inland Petroleum in Dubbo NSW.

I am interested to hear what other CRD owners are experiencing.

I am near 40K, and haven't checked mine yet, but I will, as i am about to do a 6K trip into the desert.

I haven't replaced a MAF , on any of my trucks ever.....and i have done heaps of k's and tripping around.

I think that it possibly has something to do with the type of oil you run, as i normally Nissan Semi Synthetic oil, that they recommend and I haven't had an issue ever.
