Not a bad price until something goes wrong with it, imagine something going wrong and trying to claim warrantly on it

They are a lot hardier than the cheapos, can mount anywhere outside the car, boat, bike, we have used one on the front of a waterski.

Below is copied directly from catch of the days website, please note the camera is a Direct Import

*Direct Import Goods Explained:
Our Direct Import Terms and Conditions and Standard Terms and Conditions explain (where applicable) your specific rights in relation to Direct Import Goods.
What are Direct Import Goods?
Direct Import Goods are products you purchase directly from an overseas supplier. Think of Catchoftheday as advertising the goods, rather than selling them itself. By purchasing Direct Import Goods, you become the importer of those goods, personally.
Buying Direct Import Goods allows you to take advantage of Australia’s great exchange rates and get products cheaper than you might pay locally, and you'll be buying from reputable suppliers we have vetted and done the necessary quality control - we back their integrity!

What does it mean if I’m the importer?
If your purchase exceeds $1000 you may be liable for any taxes, duties or government charges as well as product compliance laws or standards that may apply as the importer of such goods. See http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page5549.asp for more details.
What happens if something goes wrong with my Direct Import Goods?

Don’t worry - all products sold in Australia come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. We will deal with the supplier for you.

Just be aware though - given that Direct Import Goods come straight from overseas, if something does go wrong, replacing or repairing it will be difficult. But the supplier will always be in a position to refund you if your goods require a remedy under the Australian Consumer Law. We will deal with the supplier for you.

Who’s responsible if something goes wrong with my Direct Import Goods?
The supplier - that is the person who sells you the goods through our website. We will deal with the supplier for you.

What should I do if something goes wrong with my Direct Import Goods?
Always contact us through our Help Centre. We will deal with the supplier for you. If your goods need to be refunded under the Australian Consumer Law, for whatever reason, we will provide you with that refund (and pass our costs on to the supplier).

My Direct Import Goods say they have a warranty on the packaging or in the box. Why can’t I claim under that warranty?
Warranties offered by the manufacturers of Direct Import Goods mostly apply overseas only. You should ignore all warranty claims on the box or in it. But fear not. As explained above, all products sold in Australia come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. See our standard Terms and Conditions and Direct Import Terms and Conditions for more details. The supplier must abide by these terms. We will deal with the supplier for you.

What else do I need to know?
You should read our Direct Import Terms and Conditions and our Standard Terms and Conditions before purchasing. If you have any other questions, contact our Help Centre.
