RANT - Is it people cannot read or just don't give a flying #$@^$

Why is it you get a call saying "I am interested in your car & want to come have a look, will you be home" You tell em yes and organise a time. Time comes and no show, you call and they just say yeah, sorry got caught up, might have to be next weekend. :furious:

You ask why they could not have called to let you know they crack the sh#ts at you - like WTF, do you do this for Sh#ts 'N' Giggles or something?

I just don't get it - If I say I will meet you or organise a time to drop around when I am buying something I do it or if the world turns to crud I call and let the person know. Just common courtesy to me.

Wine is now helping to soothe the annoyance.

I get this with my work too, appointment made then remind them 24hrs via SMS then 15 mins before its oh we're not coming. Like they didn't know that earlier ?

Mate all you can do is get on with your life, get them to call when they are 1/2 an hour away and meet them somewhere convienient. The real ones will be happy to work with you the ratbags will never call.

Best thing I learnt is to never give them your address until they are close by. Because sometimes they will do a drive by first, and if they don't like what they see they simply don't turn up. I have always done this when selling cars and rarely get no shows. Plus I do it with my Ebay store to for pickups. I give them the nearest major road, tell them a time that i will be hear, not an hour later. Example say "I will be home until 12pm, then I'm out for the rest of the day" Even if your not, they don't need to know and when they are on that said road to call me and I will then forward the address.
If people don't like it that way then go elsewhere I say. But haven't had a complaint about it yet.
You need to try to put them in the situation where they need to make an attempt.
