Brings back some really painful memories. We were lucky in that our vet came to our house and did the deed. All our family were there to keep her company and send her on her way....... I feel for mate.

Sorry 3D, it's a very sad day. I had to say goodbye to my Rotti after 19 years of friendship. Shed some big tears that day.

It's hard to do what you must, but when it gets to the point that it's harder not to do it, you know the time has come. Let the tears flow TD.

Hey TD - remember to hold him tight, hold his paw, look him in the eye and say goodbye. Hardest thing I have ever had to do and will be for you - but if the time has come forget abut everyone telling you it's the right thing to do - and remember the times you had and name a star after him! When you're out at the camp fire and look up - remember he is there in spirit mate. I'm shedding a tear for you now mate and I haven't met him - but I do honestly know how it feels - its shit.

TD , it is sad to lose your little mate like that - i know, i have cried every time, as there is a huge bond between a man and his dog.

I guess the only consolation is that you had a great innings and you got to say goodbye

Feel for you 3d, non dog people probably wont understand, but for the rest of us who have been there, we feel your pain.

@ Winnie Thanks heaps, I know you, BA and a few others are huge dog fans, A few here have also met the mighty Crooza.
He came from a litter of 7, 3 girls and 4 boys , pretty sure he was last to go as the rest were used as pig dogs.
Breed wise he was Bull Arab, from a bloke up NSW who bred great hunting dogs not just throwing wolf hounds
and Danes together, this guy thought about what he wanted in a dog.this pic is Crooz last week,
but he went Skeletal so fast. I like the idea of naming a star after him so on O ryan {the Pot} there are 3 stars close together
Crooza is now the RH one, Top Dog again

Can't believe I missed this mate. Very sad day for everyone, bringing back memories all round..

My first childhood dog made 16, was 3 when the olds get her. Keisha, our golden retriever. Was a very sad day, 2nd only to burying my grandpa.

Top idea with the star mate. Will remember Cruza when I look up. And we'll have a beer for him when I'm over..
ow FYI, I'm heading over queens birthday weekend.. :D
