The front retractable seat belts no longer retract on my 2004 Patrol - the passenger side worse than the drivers side. Is there a lubrication or easy fix other than having to pull off all the column trim to get to the mechanism? Assuming that there is something you can do to the retractable mechanism once you get to it :)
Thanks
Peter

Wash belt with dishwashing liquid.
Also sandpaper the bracket on the pillar ss it accumulates junk over time

x2 sandpaper the top and bottom of the plastic runner the belt goes thru to get rid of the crud that builds up.

Tried all that and it worked to some degree. Ended up replaceing them with aftermarket ADR approved ones. They work great. Do a search on this site for the thread if you are interested.

Thanks everyone. Will try the washing/sandpapering method first. If that doesn't work, then I'll look into BillsGU suggestion.
