I was going to go with flexi flares to make the wheels I'm planning to buy legal but I weakened & spent money on factory flares rather than going with flexi flares. I convinced myself that they'd look better, & I don't intend driving in too many places where flexible flares would be advantageous. The fact that the price was half that of the fibreglass aftermarket flares I've seen helped the decision.

A couple of questions.

Edit. I have just tried deleting this post, having looked more closely at the pics in the ad, but can't for some reason. I had asked about rubber backing & fasteners for the flares, but it appears from the pics that they are all included, making this post superfluous.

Oh well.

Just a heads up to anyone wanting factory flares for their pre 2007 GU DX Patrol cab chassis (with factory bull bar). I had previously been informed that these were not available from Nissan but this is not so.
The ones I just bought came from Steve Jarvin Motors (via ebay) who tell me they have several more pairs on their shelves, as well as mentioning that many dealers don't carry them.
Part no is F3812-1Y600A which is a kit with all that is needed to fit them. I paid $175 delivered (with tracking & insurance). This compared well to the $442 I was quoted from FRP (http://www.frp.com.au) delivered.
