3" dump pipe

Hey guys.

I have been looking around for performance upgrades for my 4.2 td and seen alot about the 3 inch dump pipe making a big difference. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the 3" dump fits onto the stock gu exhaust as mine is custom and dont want the full 3 inch. and also if its worth it?

Here you go mate. Standard dump pipe and 3" dump pipe. It will fit a gu manifold and as you can see its a big difference in getting the gases out quicker.

Except if your not running it into a 3" exhaust it might not make a huge difference as your restricting it as soon as it leaves the dump pipe anyway.

Sorry mate I meant exhaust, not manifold...lol

But yeah I probably wouldn't bother with it unless you were running a 3" exhaust as well. Happy to be proven wrong if anyone else thinks differently??????

yeah what your saying seems rite mate. I have just seen a few comments on pages explaining how much the standard dump restricts boost, and with the 3 inch dump pipe, it will allow boost to come alot earlier and harder. But if still having the standard exhaust still restricts it i might have to go full 3 inch.

Hello , I have fitted a 3inch system on my 4.2lt MTQ sell the dump pipe manifold then I brought a 3 inch full mandrill bend and about 5 feet of pipe add a 3 inch straight through muffler and Tig it all together
