Is there a gadget to hold the front window secure when its half way down. Sometimes it feels like it will break. I know its caused as there is no Quarter vent window.
Have heard of a finger type gadget that presses on window keeping tension on it. but that was a passenger car, thinking Alitis may have a cure, Especially evident going over railway lines

That because the bailey channel is worn to buggery John. Take a real close look at it, mine was virtually non existent.
I wasn't prepared to fork out $150 for the OEM one so I removed the old channel, removed the metal bracket it sits in and took that down to Clarke Rubber and paid about $10 for a length. Got home and cut the old channel just before it turns 45degrees, about where the mirror sits and then fit the new channel. Works a treat. The little triangle shaped plastic cover on the inside and the mirror mount on the outside hide the join. Just use some Gorilla Grip to make sure the channel doesn't move with the window.
