Hi all
I installed a new alloy radiator in the patrol about 3 months ago and already it has started leaking. You can see in the photo where it's leaking from, I'm just after suggestions on how to prevent this from next time. I'm getting sent a new one under warranty. I specifically used a coolant that was designed to be used in aluminium systems, so I'm really at a loss as to why it's done this.

Thanks all for viewing

Was it one of the $275 ones with 2 yr warranty ???
May be just one of those things, poor handling from warehouse

True BA thats the last thing you want to see after a few hours toil.
gear grinding WT , gotta get up with the lingo,
If its happened from/at the warehouse or on transit, I can only think of a pressure test, prior to installing
Similar to an IC, dont need big pressures, just block all bar one outlet and put a few psi in it
and submerge in kiddies pool, look for bubbles. or request from seller??l

Indeed it is one of those "cheap" radiators. It's being replaced without any dramas, infact they're sending me a new one for free without asking for the old one back. I plan to give the core a light spray with black paint to provide the external surface abit of corrosion protection, but if it happens again ill be cutting my losses and will purchase a decent one in the future.

I'll follow with interest as losing water ATM, but putting silver flakes in until I decide which way to go.
Would like slightly bigger than OE for towing and low range work. good to know about warranty though

Got the new radiator the other day. Very impressed with the warranty process, only an email and a couple of photos was all it took. I measured the resistance between earth and the radiator and found resistance, so when installing the new radiator, installed a bonding jumper to avoid any potential differences. Thanks to alitis for this idea. Running red coolant also as its designed for aluminium systems.
Gave the new radiator a coat in paint aswell, hopefully will last me a little longer next time.
