So I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner and I hear someone at the door. The wife answers and I hear an Irish voice. I instantly thought of ACA with those Irish guys wanting to re-seal your roof at unbeatable prices, then after the job, demand more cash etc etc.
Well. One guess what this guy was selling? Yep! Roof restoration. Before I could clean my hands and run to the door the wife had already said yes for a quote. :clapping:
So I reluctantly showed him around the perimeter of the house. This is where is gets good.
His first quote was $3800, to replace any cracked tiles, re do the capping, clean the tiles and two coats of paint. I instantly said no and told him we haven't got the money to do this and we have other priorities first. He instantly dropped 1k. I still said no and he kept on butting in before I could say anything and would repeat what they would do. > > > > >

I didn't have to pay right away he says. Then while he's walking down my driveway he then starts on my driveway! Wanting to quote on this for a reseal. By this time I just turned and walked inside.

Bloody hell!!! I didn't need to keep a straight police record I would have thumped this guy!

As far as pushy sales go I know all about it being an ex carpet industry pusher. Its such a scam the hard sale! Good on you for showing him the door (or should i say driveway) though!!! Beeing in sales I find there is nothing worse than coming home from work to be harassed unsolicited at home!
