Engine Conversion (infinity V8)

I am looking into doing an engine conversion in the shorty. (Currently 4.2L petrol) i have been looking at the VH45 Nissan infinity V8 4.5L. i have been told that you can install it with relative ease, not having to do much in the way of engine bay modification. Supposedly it bolts straight to the standard gearbox with no problems. Has any one had anything to do with these engines and or doing the conversion???

Not sure if there's been many of these done. I know XLR8 had a Nissan v8 in his GQ but can't remember which one it was. Sorry mate can't help ya.

There was a place in perth that did the conversion on a import GU shorty, i think they sourced an early model motor that had less emission control gear on it and had to flip the top of the pletnum 180degrees. I'll try and think of who done it and get back to you mate..

There's a GQ shorty getting around here that has the same engine conversion. The Nissan infinity that the engine came out of had the exact same auto box as the GQ which ment it bolted onto the bell housing straight up. I looked at it briefly as it was at the transmission place when I had my trol there. I didn't take much notice of any engine bay mods but was told it was a relatively simple conversion. The engine looked like it belonged in there
