Does anyone know of a decent caravan park to stay in for a couple of nights at the start of July, before heading up the Cape,

Hi Tonks, Big4 just outside Port Douglas was recommended by a few of the members. Our group will be staying there early Aug prior to hitting the Cape.

We really enjoyed the caravan park at Wonga Beach, north of Port Douglas, & just a few Kms short of the Daintree ferry. 'Freeform camping on grass right on the beach. There are two CP's close to each other at Wonga Beach, can't recall the name of the one we stayed at but easy to check them out.

We stay in one on the Northern side in "83 on the way to cape ,Cairns caravan park was the name pretty sure Cabins as you arrive pool and general camping at the rear.
Very big park and very clean too ,
