Here we go finally we can decide if certain brands are worth avoiding or not.
I have a Warn 9.5 XP very happy of course. Don't get to use it as much as I should ,only for medical reasons. That hopefully will change soon.

Or made by another Party to TJM specs,
I wonder how many parts are interchangable, amongst the low mounts

Had A worked Warn high mount for winch comps. Sold that as to compete it needed a further 5-7k. So put the v8 in the patrol instead.
Had a Kingone winch 9500 top budget winch from china at the time and a good reputation. Really happy with that winch.
Got given a Aldi winch, have serviced it with a winch Service kit from super cheap auto. That will go of the PX Ranger....
And in the market again for a winch for the patrol. Back looking at the new high speed Kingone with a massive price decrease from when I bought my last one. Also can get cool a air freespool actuator saving me or mate heading back to the winch to manually engage the gears.

I don't think you know if a winch is any good until it's really been put through it's paces like being submerged in a bog for an hour and still managed to pull you out of the bog! Simply sitting there nice and dry with the odd pull up a hill is no real test. :-)

Tigerz Grande 12000. Used about 20-30 times in twelve months, mostly at Glasshouse in some deep mud, also on the beach at Bribie and on the Bribie inland dtrack.
Hauled our fat GU and camper trailer outta some hub deep sand no worries. Pulled a few Hiluxes and Cruiers outta deep mud no worries.
Works well,

Runva and kingone winches are made in china from my understanding from guys in the Indusrty and research one winches I have done.
Both companies are dedicated to all winches.
I heard nothing but good reports from runva and as I posted earlier I'm looking at the kingone which you will find through avenger Australian in Melbourne. Avenger is a Asian compmay making 4x4 accessories but to a stricter quality control.

as long as motor running you can winch all day long, Definitely worth fitting,IMO Big fan of PTOs

As I said earlier I have a PTO winch and love it. You can haul stuff all day long. You don't need a lot of rev for them to work well in fact less is far better as they have a shear pin in the drive line. I don't go above 1500rpm for that reason when winching and if it stalls the motor I just chuck a snatch block on haven't found anything I cant move yet. I haul logs out of the bush for firewood and find that as long as I chain my Safari to a large living tree it can move anything

I'm sure we have all had that red faced moment when in desperation we have hooked on to that slightly dead looking tree and either had the winch rope cut it down or pulled it over or is just me?
Our beach trees over here rot from the inside out so sometimes it can get interesting

@ Tank up Tallarook with Mate only way to get him back on track was to skull drag him 90 degrees,
lots of straps no pulley block and 30 mtrs of cable eye on each end. cable around nice sturdy tree.
easy as you do , another 10 ft and tree would have been cut in half, but sometimes you need to make exceptions.
not much else was possible that day. For those that know the area it was the rocky track up the back way to warrigul rocks lookout
been close for years now but a great track.

I have only ever seen them on the TD42, the catch is it has to be a manual box. On the side of the gear box (passengers side) there is a cover plate that is removable and the PTO take off bolts on there. The gear lever for engaging the PTO fits up on the drivers side of the gear lever and works via a cable

I have an X9 superwinch on the GUiV. I bought it second hand and it looked unused. It had been on the front of a 200 series and when I got it home I bench tested it. It was fully seized and rooted.
I stripped it down and rebuilt the gearbox and then the motor as both had been full of water and were solid.
Don't take it for granted that the winch on the front of your car for 5 years and never used will still be ok to use. Test it, service it at least once a year. It's not hard to do and take a couple of hours and then will not let you down when you really need it.

Yes I have that setup on mine but have not really used it to be honest so it acts like a vent when not pressurized. Pressurizing is actually quite difficult to achieve but I do at least get positive airflow (pressure) but it is also well sealed.
If I go the air free spool then will use that airline and solenoid to operate the free spool and do away with the pressurize option.

What did you do to bench test it? Eg; how did you set the test up?

I used a jump pack to power the winch without the solenoid.
You will find the power sequence via google and power up the winch and test the directions are working well.
I did into need any parts as it all just needed a good clean out. Most parts though should be readily available Drew.
