Left Coffs Wednesday @ 0850
Got to Overnight stay in Sydney @ 1620
Drove to Batesman bay and back on Thursday for a funeral
Arrived back in Coffs Friday night @ 1820 (back in time for dinner then watch the footy :D )

Covered 1722kms in that time, and that is with 2 kids under 3, (1 just over 2 1/2 years and the other 8months old)

Certainly don't miss Sydney roads, Total idiots down there :P So glad we moved away

Cheers,
Eric.

I certainly won't be doing that again for a while, I'm happy to do the kms, but next time maybe over a week or so :D, 3 days of long driving in a row really takes it out of ya!

Damm good effort considering you can only do 100 k's .I love the challenge of driving and would drive Alice /Darwin in a 4x4 in 12 hrs 1640 k's then turn around and go back to Mataranka 400k's and sleep in 1 hit without any drugs $.140 all the way .Was I arise can't say but never had accident in all the time I was doing it and loved every minute of it as I was the only person in the vehicle .Keep in mind you don't have to drop to 80 60 50 k"s every 5 minutes.

Yeah, from Newcastle to Kempsey is pretty much all dual carriageway now but the speed varies between 100-110, cant understand why they don't make it all the same, Will be great when it bypasses Bulahdelah, It's not long from being finished I think. The new Kempsey bypass is pretty impressive, the bridge over the flood plain must be the good part of a km long, Highway won't be getting closed there when it floods.

We just need to remember to stop and take a break from driving every 2-3 hours, cos driver fatigue can be fatal.
It only takes a blink of an eye to turn to a disaster.

I love long drives, not sure I'd enjoy them quite so much with kiddies on board though :)

Last good run was Adelaide to Bathurst in one hit, about 14 hours with quite a few breaks.

I did Broome, WA to Bowen, QLD in 49 hours on a motorcycle. Had a 6 hour sleep in Mt Isa. I love long drives/rides as well......

Done Melbourne to Sydney for a weekend a couple of times to see family.
Also drove Melbourne to Adelaide for 2 days work during the volcano ash crisis, my flight got cancelled lol.

Love a nice long drive and often do my favorite Great Alpine Rd loop from Melbourne as a day trip, 900k round trip.
