TD42 Rebuild

Hi,
I am shortly going to rebuild my 89 TD42 engine with 460k on it. A couple of questions.
Any particular brand of rebuild kit preferable to any others?
Is it worth porting the head while it is getting machined? If so any one near the Hunter Valley that you would recommend?

I rebuilt my 94 td42 over Christmas last year and I used Hm gem to source a rebuild kit and to put new sleeves in the bore and machine them. Needed the conrod bearings machined too. Kit cost $800 and machining was about $600. I did all the removal and rebuilding myself. Been in for a couple thousand k's now and I'm really happy.
