Hey guys
Would any of you fellas roughly know how much I would pay to put a 4.2td into a 2003 3L st.
Just trying to figure out which way I want go.

theres guys in perth that do it for about 10g but i dont know if that engine supplied or not

I called a couple places up and I am looking at about $20g to $25. Is that a bit steep for a full change over.

A mate just did it himself and it cost him close to 10k. He ended up buying a rusty GQ with a good turbo td42 and did it in his front yard.
Managed to sell off a few bits from the wreck to recover some money though.
Its not a hard job if you are mechanically minded but you would need some welding skills or know someone who has them to weld in the engine mounts to the GU chassis after they are cut off the GQ.
Then you need to get the wiring harness sorted. This cost around $800 i think.
Aside from these items its a pretty straight forward engine change.

For some of those prices you could get a 6.5 liter donk installed from Brunswick diesel in WA... If I have any issues with my 3.0 that's the path I will be heading down.
