so is the twin in yet or still in build stages.. what HP you recon you'll get? And what turbo setup is that??? skyline or something?

Frontbumfab
6th May 2013, 12:11 PM
still building stages mate. turbos and dump are all bolted in. the turbos are straight off a 1jz. not sure on hp but turbo tb42s usually go pretty good. they boost up at 1100 rpm on the 2 litre so it will be interesting to see how it goes. real small turbos but theres 2 of:bananadancing:

BigRAWesty
6th May 2013, 12:34 PM
bugga me.. there is a set with joining manifold for $200 on ebay atm...:icon_bonk: (edit, located in miami...)
cheap as..
ill be watching with interest.. twin turbo TD42 anyone???

and not to down a sweet project, coz you do look like a welder by trade, but i hope your using the thinnest pipe. normal water pipe will crack threw the welds as it heats so slowly, you need it to heat up all at the same time..
Normal cast manifolds don't have this issue because there cast.. And many after marked manifolds are stainless..

Frontbumfab
7th May 2013, 11:09 AM
Yeah thats about what i paid for mine with a dump pipe to fit a celica and other bits. The bloke didnt know what to say when i told him what they were going on. Yeah my mate was told the same thing when he made his manifold he had a 4.5 gu turbo. And its steam pipe we ordered in not just any old water pipe out of the shed. He used to have his red hot and go through creek crossings. Never cracked ever. So guess we will just see haha.:cool:

BigRAWesty
7th May 2013, 11:13 AM
Yea fair call.. you may be right as you have a bit of length to each pipe. I thing the biggest culprits are the manifold hugging headers which are just steam pipe preformed bends and T's welded together.. so not much room for expansion..

But yea, cool...

BigRAWesty

Something sealed... The biggest issue I see with all petrol 4bys is water in the coil packs and then there no bang..
So don't cheap out here..
As for brand.. I'm a diesel man sorry.. :p

1/4 chop is quite easy. If you buy the pre cut ones from eBay then follow there instructions..
If doing it yourself the cut where ever.. leave about 10mm to form a lip and fold it under before welding.. itll make welding it so much easier..

Frontbumfab
15th May 2013, 07:16 PM
Yeah sorry about that. Yeah im going to do it myself. Im just not 100% if theres an exact spot to cut. Or fold. Pretty much just under the body line i guess. I wasnt going to worry about folding a lip. Ill just tack the plate on all the way around and grind it back and give it a paint. Bit of silicon on the inside should be sweet

Idea , get a compressor from a set of red airhorns and set in down via a needle valve of some description .
drill small hole in side of dizzy and silicon hose in it. Just hit the switch just before water hazzard and pressurize
Dizzy with small psi and hit the water should keep dizzy water free, There used to be a product out a while back
that you sprayed all over dizzy Cant recall name but sales guy took top off my dizzy big Accel number on 350 chev
Threw in cup of water closed it and told me to hit the start button. Blow me down started and never farted once

Ive seen people set up an airline from a locker compressor to their dissy. They put a restricter so it only runs a constant 2 or 3 PSI which gives the dissy a positive pressure and stops water getting in. Too much mucking around for me, plus i dont have a compressor setup.

Picked up beadlocked 15x10s with flipped centers with Negative 70ish offset for the swampers. Grills finished. Bars are getting blasted. Been a whole year not much has happened, works been slow and family stuff to deal with but im going round 2 now got stuff sorted. going single turbo, thinking of getting a rb25 manifold and cutting the flange and making a tb one fit, trouble is finding a stainless patrol exhaust flange,
yeah twins are sold, turbos were goin to be too small would of run out of puff heaps early, still have the manifold tho if someone wants to try it on a td, would work well i think.
