Hi

I tried to use a square 1/2 drive to loosen my diff sump plug. I actually broke the 75mm extension bar i was using

So I did this and it worked great.
I found an old hex driver I once bought for changing the head on my VL commodore. I haven't used it in over 15 years. I ground it down until it was about 13.5mm.

And this fit nice and snug in the square hole.

This may be of some value to others if they have a unused hex driver or a 1/2 inch drive allen key.

Cheers

I didn't measure but the 1/2 socket is a fair bit little loose in the sump socket. Results speak for themselves............... extension is stuffed.

Wow that must have been a fair dodgy 1/2 " drive!!!! That's nuts!

1/2" ratchet straight in there and jobs right! Or 1/2" breaker should sort it easy???

No Way!!! Really!!! Take it into Blackwoods or all tools and claim a warranty on it!!! Don't tell them what you were doing with it but it is no different having a socket half on it!!! It should not have done that and said chrome should replace it!

I don't think life time means forever, it has a lifetime life of X years......can't remember what the X years are. Manufacturers will put a life to a tool, say a socket has a lifetime of 10 years etc.

Lifetime warranty is just that...... LIFETIME

Note para 1.4

There's a difference between lifetime warranty and limited lifetime warranty.

The "Useful Life" of a 1/2 inch extension socket must be.......... My lifetime!

It states that the warranty is not transferable therefore when I die my son will inherit my Sidchrome tools and not be able to make a warranty Claim. In the mean time that particular item has a useful life of my lifetime. It should not wear out.

It certainly should Not Collapse like it did!!!

Take it back

I agree, I have never heard of a Sidchrome claim being declined.

Even the tools that had been abused.
