G'day everyone,
I am up for the 40,000km service in my 2011 GU Patrol and just wanted to get an idea of how much should it cost? I have been quoted $1200 from the Nissan dealership that I normally go to but I think that is a lot of money for changing a few filter and some fluids. I have been quoted $954 from another mechanic who claimed the reason for the expense is the cost of the fuel filter. Love to hear people's feedback.

I have a mate mechanic do my 10k services so I get stamped in the warranty book. The 40k on my last Patrol which was an 08 GU6 was $550 with all genuine parts.

The $1000 mark is about standard for any mechanic and around $1200-1300 from Nissan RIP OFF

Get the genuane parts off Nizzbits and purchase the oils then just get a mechanic to change and stamp your book.

EDIT - Last time I purchased a fuel filter from Nissan it was $153 from memory and you should get a better price from Nizzbits as well

Thanks for the replies. I have been shopping around and the best price so far is $730. I am still looking at my options at the moment and appreciate the feedback. It just astounds me how expensive it can be for only a few extra items added to the servicing. They seem to inspect the same items as they have before but the only difference is that they change the oil/filters and that instantly adds $600. I fail to understand.
