What's involved in a thorough service for a three-row copper-core radiator (GQ 4.2 diesel)? I want to talk to a couple of local radiator shops to find one I can trust to do a proper job, and need to understand what to ask for.

Any recommendations for someone in the Canberra area would be great - thanks.

You can go new or recon......the recon are refurbished from someone else's or they will use your top and bottom tank and use a new core. Or most will do an average clean out of core and tank.....sometimes it works, other times it just adds 6 months to the life. IMO if you have the $ go new, have a look on eBay, some good prices there sometimes. All the best.....

hi chrisN

they will remove the copper tanks with an oxy then they will rod the core to clean any corrosion/blocks rodding the core might cause more damage than good on an old core could last 6months or 5years hard to say depends how much build up is inside the core a good shop will let you know if its bad natrad are a good company and will give you a warranty (i think) on a reco
IMO like NP99 said better off getting a new core or whole new radiator it all come down to the $$$

cheers
