Nice one, an other details on the tanks mate? Can't really tell looking at the pics. How many litres do they hold? How do you fill them? How do you get the water? Would you drink it?

How much? Where are you?

They won't fit my GUIV but I like them. ;)

How thick is the metal? Is there plastic inside? I'd assume you couldn't drink it if it was just metal.

I reckon it will be extruded aluminium plank with the ends sealed! Great idea but obviously a little exposed. You can see a dent I.n the passenger side one. Still like it!

Nice low centre of gravity, mainly touring, possibly emergency water, Great idea though.
Do you have a better pic, I've seen the same done as air tanks,

I like them allot mate! Is that tap bung at the back wheel or the front? Thinking back?

Yeah if your going to do a heap of outback touring they are a winner I reckon.

Got to be worth $150 to $200 I reckon? Really have no idea though mate but good luck.

If you were able to work out an easy way to fill these, you would be on a winner for a touring bus

My only hesitation with these would be the fill points

Wouldn't you just stuck the hose in? Or a small funnel?

they hold 15ltrs each and i was going to put a one way valve on the filler and just a tap on the other have used them to wash muddy hands the tap is at the back of the car i was think bout $125 cause of the damage

Looks the fill point is right under the edge of the front flare, meaning you couldn't get a funnel in there. As long as you can get the bung out easy enough it wouldn't be a problem as its external to the car.

The rear outlet is a bit vulnerable though, as you can't use it as it is without some form of tap, unless you just emptied it into another container....
The other problem i see, is the fact that the rear outlet will get covered in mud and dirt, requiring water to clean it off, to get the water out.

Yeah I'd probably fit a steel or brass gate valve as the tap but it is certainly a little vulnerable. Your idea of simply filling you Jerry up and emptying the tank in one go has merit though for sure.

Still really like this for outback stuff. Would get knocked around in the high country though I think.

You could alway just fit them for an outback trip then remove and refit your normal steps for day to day....

I wonder if I could make them fit a GUIv?

That is what I was thinking.....have them as a changeover item for outback stuff.
Ten minutes in the high country could have these looking a little second hand
