Hi, just wondering what people do to run a 12 volt GPS that normally plugs into a 12 volt cigarette lighter socket?
Thanks,

Sorry, I mustn't have explained correctly. My Safari has only a 24 volt socket. I don't think I should risk plugging it in to that. I see there is a 24 volt to 12 volt reducer at Jaycar. Is this the best option?
Thanks,

Lol. Sorry mate most GQs in Australia are 12v units so all good. Yep grab a step down inverter from Jaycar will be the best option mate. If you wire that in per inanely then you can setup a 12v system for other stuff too. If you want to run a bit of stuff then think about the capacity of the inverter you buy especially if you intend to run a fridge.

Thanks, I'll get one then. Just a GPS and MP3 player.
Cheers,
