Hi guys,
Ben here from WA!!
Don’t actually own a Patrol yet but the finance has been pre-approved and I am actively hunting for one. Looking for a later model CRD ST, I am a bit of a stickler for the mod cons, cruise control, power windows etc etc.
Trading up from my beloved T30 Xtrail, dubbed the Rav 4 recovery vehicle! It had as much 4wding fruit as you could chuck at it, including 2" lift, full under body protection, muddies (still on the stock alloys though), duel bat system, factory bunny bar, spotties, upgraded recovery points, the list goes on!!
Unfortunately after countless dune burying’s and a couple of cooked clutches, I am in dire need of something a bit more serious. After literally months of research the Patrol has come up trumps!
The mod list is already extensive! Just waiting on finding the right truck for my budget.
Anyway this forum looks like a great source of info once I do make the purchase so I am sure you will get a lot more posts out of me.
I will keep yas all posted as to the shopping progress!!
Ciao

Whats the go with linking round here guys? Can we link away (to useful sites of course) or do you need x amount of posts or is it frowned upon all together?

Gday Ben, welcome aboard bud........ as long as they are useful links then you should be OK but if in doubt, you can always run them past one of the mods or AB.
Don't slap it, tap it!!!!

Look at buying in any state other than WA. Few of us have bought from SA, Vic and Qld. After inspections airfaires transport/driving back and licensing it works out better value fo money. Last three cars being two Patrols (GU) and a 150 Prado have all been kitted out and 20 to 30% cheaper than WA.

Thanks for the warn welcome guys!!
Well the deal is done on a 2008 ST with 100K on it!! Nice looking rig that from what I can tell was a shopping trolley!!
Happy with the trade and have already started shopping for accesories, first up is a nice new ARB Commercial Combo bar in place of the factory alloy job and a snorkel.
Gold in colour so I have dubbed it the Golden Scarab!! Due to pick it up on Wednesday then off to me mates hoist for a complete fluid change out!
Will get some photos asap.
