Hi all..I am going to remove the rear dickie seat at the back for draws etc ...and at the same time I was also going to install pajero front seats because I have heard they are more comfortable for long distances...(need to confirm that further though )...I was also considering removing the rear passenger seats to create more room because they just wont be used by passengers ...especially if touring around .....would I need compliance if I removed any of them and or all of them and if I did change the front ones to pajero or any other model seats....if all are removed would I be made to comply it as a 2 seater ?....cheers

Legally by law yes yes yes and yes
Any changes from what your compliance plate says would need compliance, also removing the fronts seats and replacing them with something else would need compliance

What model Pajero seats, cos I didn't find them much better then the GU seats and I was sitting in an NL Exceed.
They were quite flat on the bottom with fair cushioning like the GU already has.

Gday mate , I did twelve mths around this great country a year ago in a gq and put drawers in the back. I just kept the dickie seats and put them back in when I got back and getting ready to sell it. Dont know about the paj seats but same thing really and just refit the origs if you intend to sell it.

cheers Bauer...It seems that it would still have to be complied as a seven seater when out travelling around if not re-complied with less seating arrangements ....I thought they might be able to knock me off as was aluded to be nissan GQ 4.2 in an earlier reply with just having the two front seats and different ones at that from original design....if I was just going to remove the dickie seat then I probably would just run the risk.... but it seems of late that 4wheel drivers (actively 4x4 driving and touring )in total seem to be the latest target for everything , right down to aerials as I read in a thread on here ...
