G'day Poodog,

I have my Patrol insured with GIO, market value for a 2001 4.2 turbo diesel wagon was only $16,000.00. However they insured all of my accessories, bull-bar, rear-bar, winch, roof-rack, storage drawers, driving lights, radio, GPS/entertainment system etc for new value replacement cost. I am paying $800.00 per year fully comprehensive insurance for a total of $ 29,000.00.

PS, you have to shop around and also let the various insurance companies know that your are shopping around for the best deal for your circumstances.

Regards,

RLI

I have our Patrol based camper insured through the Campervan & Motorhome club of Australia. (Allianz) No restriction on where it is used. 2006 4.2TDi. Agreed value $56k. Many extras/mods. Age 55. Rating 1 NCD. $623 pa.

Do any of the 4wd clubs have similar insurance schemes which would make membership fees worthwhile?

+1 for DGA. I just recently got a policy with DGA and they covered the Patrol for 63k Agreed value. They also covered all the mods on the Patrol and they were really easy to deal with too. It covers me for anywhere in Australia too.
