can anybody tell me if/of how often gear box oil needs changing in a 4.2 gu patrol. The bottom plug is seized so obviously hasn't been changed for a while.

Just something the forum asks of everyone,
As for your Dilemma try tapping sump plug to break seal if all else fails weld a rod or old socket to it.

There's something in the Manual. I'm not sure if its anything 80T kms. The best you should do is to open the upper plug to check its viscosity, color and level.
