does anyone else have a shitload of trouble trying to find an insurance company that will give them a decent agreed value on their patrol, for example my gq is prob worth 16-17k to replace yet the most agreed i can find is 6K with perect driving record 29yr male.

any ideas?

I have mine with all my gear and insured to go anywhere I like through DGA... anytime I get some new bits I ring them and they add it to the policy.

I am with DGA too Jonathan but they changed their policy it's now only market value! Better ring them and make sure.

If you're happy and you know it tap a post!

I had the same problem with a 'showroom standard Troopy. Most insurers wouldn't go much over market value, around $5k less than I'd paid for it. Ended up with Shannons who insured it for the price I'd paid, but they weren't cheap!

That's the balance hay cuppa. Sure you can get that last little bit, but it'll cost you...

I went with Alliance after years with RACV, covered it for what I wanted. New for old replacement within first two year, plus all options/extras covered. I didn't have to detail them just told them 10k worth of options.

Just renewed my 2006 GUIV ute for $42k agreed value cost $611 with RACQ. Had to list all modifications and values etc. I think they said standard ute was worth $27k.

Make sure policies are up to date, i just changed mine to say i have raised suspension, and it came out cheaper. Admittedly it wasnt much cheaper, but every dollar i dont pay them is good in my books. Im with AAMI, havent been to much hassle getting an acceptable amount of coverage.

my shorty is only insured for 5500 i think, much less in my opinion than what its worth or what i could get for it. but i want to keep the 60% discount so i have to stick with NRMA.

Hey Rusty, I was able to transfer my no claim bonus over from RACV to Alliance, the price was a bit dearer but the cover was heaps better. Worth checking out.

I'm pretty sure that 60% can transfer between companies.

The thing is with some places like Youi is that they are great until you need them to payout!! Has anyone had to have a payout from the likes of youi and DGA??
