before blocking my egr is was getting 16l per hundred around town first check after blocking 13l per hundred. huge difference, mine as we call the ones that use a lot of fuel are guzzlers mine is a guzzler so now what im thinking that my egr was faulty and thats why we have such a huge difference in fuel economy between our cars. when i had a nav black smoke eveywhere bad fuel economy blocked that and its behaviour changed and i know that the egr on that was faulty. so what are your thoughts on dodgy egr valves causing bad fuel economy.PS that 13l that i got was with a very heavy foot enjoying the new power and take off so im expecting even better than that.kev

If your EGR is faulty your fuel eco will be shot. If its not, blocking the EGR won't give much fuel eco improvement but let your engine breath clean air instead of dirty carbon filled air.

thats what im getting at i believe my egr was faulty thats why my economy was 16l per hundred and why i have got a dramatic increase in economy and others dont when they block as their egr is probably working correctly. im thinking this way as ive read so many times why no one knows why some guzzle and others dont

The biggest faults with EGR is that it even exists.
