Well were really starting to do some k's now in the old q, and although I can manage long trips with the good old foot its nice to not have to worry about the boys in blue.
So was there a factory cruze setup up for the gq? Was it any good?
Or what after market setup have you gone?.
I'm hoping for DIY, but only coz I got other things to buy.. :D

Hiya Cobber,
Dunno about factory but I fitted an AP series (AP-60 I think) after market jobbie to my first GQ and it worked faultlessly. Was still going strong when I sold her about 140,000 K's later.
Only took a couple of hours to fit and was less than $200 back then in 2007.
Worked fine towing as well, which is handy on the big flats over here in WA

Looks good. $250 with the clutch switch. Did you hook up to the accelerator peddle or straight to the fuel pump?

Don't do that! Severely compromising your braking ability.
If you're happy and you know it tap a post!

I have got the AP60 on my GQ TD42. It is awesome, makes life so much easier on long trips and I can drive longer before I get tired.
I mounted the actuator just below the battery and ran the cable in a u shape back onto the injector pump. Can get some pics if you need mate.
Like I said, works fantastic and I love it!

Exactly what I wanted to hear, direct to the pump..
Seems the best bang for buck to and found one with clutch disengagement included so yes, some pics would be tops dom.

Sorry i didn't reply earlier Westy... been off the Forum till now... but exactly what Dominator said is best IMHO also.
Hard to beat the AP60 for price versus performance at mid 200's and def fit a clutch switch. Some people don't bother.

Is the cable able to be cut to length? Is prefer to mount it close as possible or the engine bay will become a bird's nest..

The cable has one of those cylinder things on the end but I guess you could cut it and fit some kind of crimp or screw lug on the end. Here are some pics of mine.

The red line shows the route of the actuator cable.

The cable mounts to the throttle cable with this little silver clamp.

Easy as. Yea that's easy to modify. A simple loop and crimp on the end and all will be good. Thanks for the pics.
Does the led on the control panel change colour or something to show if engaged or not?
