Just use the hand pump on the fuel filter and crank it over for a bit maybe hope someone else can help

Did you change the fuel pump or the fuel filter?

The handed primer should sort it out for you. Can take a while though.

Filling the fuel filter might help too.

you could disconnect fuel line at fuel filter and pressurise your fuel tank till it starts coming out near the fuel filter. then reconnect and start bleeding out your injectors one at a time until all of the air is out of the lines. Happened to me on my old 4wd when i changed the fuel pump was told to do this by my mechanic and started first time just wished i knew an hour earlier

thanks guys i changed the fuel pump i have fuel at the filter and injector pump just not at the injectors !!i have been trying to bleed it up for about 2hrs but still nothing cant seam to get the air out of the injector lines :(
is there a correct way to carry out the bleeding or is it just hand pump it till the injetor pump is full and then crank the car over and loosen the injector pipes as needed ????????

im stumped on this one !!!!!!

As far as I know you just crack the injector line at the injector end and pump away until you see a constant flow of fuel.

how long should it take once the pump is full to get fuel up to the injectors ????

is the hand pump definately pumping? usually hand pumping till fuel out injector lines, should start piss of piss.

shouldnt take much pumpoing to get fuel out of lines.
maybe engine cranking will get fuel up to injectors?
unless you sucking air somewhere?

Hmm yeah hand pump is getting fuel to pump but can't seam to get it up to the injectors. :( does the ignition have to b on because the solinoids would stop it getting up there if its off wouldn't it ???

not sure how the newer diesel engines work. definately worth a try. can you pull hose off hand pump outlet to make sure fuel coming out of there. actually yes you would need that solenoid energised to get diesel working thru pump up to injectors. hope i am helping mate, just spitballin ideas.

Yes fuel is coming out but its comm g out really slow at the investors need to get the air out does anyone know how long this would take as we have been trying for ages

remove the overflow pipe off the fuel pump and pump the hand primer until clean fuel comes out with no air bubbles. you shouldn't need to crack the injector lines on a rotary pump.crank the engine over and if still no luck try a little squirt of aerostart to see if that helps. this is a stupid question but why was the pump replaced? was it a definite pump fault or was there a possibility of the immobiliser preventing the pump from delivering fuel.

the pump was replaced as i had no throttle contriol it just would idle and would not rev so i changed the tps switch and still just idled so it got diganosed as a posable pump ecu fault so i replaced the pump and hence my currant prob !!!!!!! :) we got fuel in the pump cracked the bleed valve got heaps of air out some fuel up to the injectors but not much still have heaps of air in side

put clear line between the fuel filter and pump to ensure there is no air entering the pump. Was the pump fault diagnosed with a psg breakout box to speak directly to the pump?. what codes were in the vehicles ecu? you could try a drum of CLEAN fuel above the pump and siphon the fuel down to the pump. at least you are then bypassing the whole supply side. is the pump you have fitted new or a fully reconditioned pump?so you can be sure the pump is good.a second hand pump may give you dramas if it hasn't had a verification done.

Its a recon pump taken out of a gu that had only done 5000k with the pump. No the old pump didnt have any codes my throttle just would work and the pump was making a weird noise when we took it out its a but stiff and has shaft play there is defiantly fuel getting to pump as its come out of the bleed line when ya crack it with heaps of air

Filling the fuel filter might help too.
Filling / Priming the fitter is bad practice.
this can easily allow 'crap'into your pump.
Better pressurising fuel tank, cranking engine or simply using primer. I assume this works...

If the engine will idle and your getting fuel out of the fuel pump supply line, run engine and crack each individually till you bleed air out then tighten injector line. bit messy but the best way to bleed air out of system. let the pump do all the work. IF THIS IS A COMMON RAIL ENGINE, DO NOT DO THIS AS FUEL PRESSURE IN THE RAIL IS OVER 18000psi. VERY DANGEROUS!!!

try this, 2 people needed ,if you have an air compressor put into the opening of your fuel tank wrap damp cloth around the compressor line at opening of fuel tank so air doesn't get out turn on compressor this should put pressure into tank to to move fuel through to the injectors while doing this pump the hand primer at fuel filter until it is firm then kick over. have done this. has worked a treat for me

You may need to code the pump into the car. Is the pump numbers the same? Is the car still throwing any codes?

Turbo one the guys at Nissan said just put it in and it will work so i dont know. I think its just a massive air loc when ya push the hand pump down ya can hear it gurgle i have tried every thing its starting to do my head in lol :banghead: it won't even start just cranks over its not throwing any codes yet ill have to re check
