I read about this on Monday and shared it with a number of friends but thought i would post some details here for you guys to consider when out with your family over Christmas.

This kid did not come home. Damn!!

Yes I agree with you Mudrunner TD. It's too easy to become complasent in the rush to save your 4B. Take time to think your actions through. Good advise.
A couple of years ago I saw a D shackle shoot throught the back window, cargo barrier and front windscreen and lodge into to tree stump. Scary stuff..............."Baileys"

Tragic story,
people under estimate the power and speed of these things when something breaks. These kids haven't been shown or taught the right and safe way of doing things

It's a good idea no doubt ... maybe the clown who used the axe as shown in another thread would think twice before using what most would consider a weapon as a snatch rope link!!

there are to many wankers out there that just dont think, that use snatch straps and tow ropes that need to be replaced and/or not strong enough for the car or job at hand. people just dont think.

As I read through this thread (cheers MR) I was thinking we need to have members post up some hints, ideas and knowledge in the Safety Thread we just started.

Looks like you guys are already sorted with it so please feel free to start any threads about in the coming weeks.

Subjects like, snatch points, correct methods, gear selections, etc etc etc.

Great idea everyone!

I think it's here we should let it be publicly known that our thoughts are with his family and friends all the same. It is still a tragedy that has taken a loved one. And I'm sure those who he has left behind , hope this is used in teaching others to learn the wright way of recovering.
