I'm looking for an accurate MAX safe figure for my EGT sensor located in my Manifold just before it hits the turbo at present my maximum hits 700° C is this safe...?

Also I want to get my fuel pump sorted properly to work with the turbo so I'm not creating clouds of black at low RPM. I was planing taking the top off of a Land Rover TDI Bosch pump and swapping it with the top of my Bosch pump. Has anyone else done this....? Or something similar using another Bosch pump...?

Thanks

Hello and welcome from the sounds of things I'd say its over fuelling causing high EGTs.
But pop over intros as RLI has suggested, just something the forum asks of everyone, thanks mate

Are you drunk or just trying to confuse me...... http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?16648-Hello-from-Scotland.....&p=301952#post301952

I have scanned through a whole load of info on here and can't find any specific info relating to EGT's in the manifold. On most of my other vehicles I have made stainless exhausts as well however the exhausts on those are all discoloured all the way to the tip with heat. The system on my Patrol is only very slightly discoloured within a few cm of the turbo, leaving me thinking I have plenty to play with yet......

700 pre turbo is about a high as you would want to go. I currently have mine tuned to 650 pre turbo to be on the safe side.

I know the land rover and TD42 pumps are similar but I do not know what is involved in fitting the aneroid from one to the other so I can't help you there.
