Just wondering if these units make as much noise as the superior ones? Anybody run them that could let me know if I should spend the cash on them or not? These things are bloody exxy but gonna be doing a couple of long trips soon and it's much less tiresome driving with a rear sway bar.

Any disconnect that has a pin (in shear) to disconnect will make noise as you have to have a bit of clearance to allow the pin to be removed and re fitted easily. The new superior ones only have to deal with the rotating clearance of the rod end, which is generally very low and at least with a bit of grease in them they are quiet and smooth.

Its a device which diconects the sway bar / torsion bar from the chassis, to allow the axles to flex more freely.
The gq's came with them as an option, I just pull a lever in the cab and I'm free. Snake racing do a manual disconnect (you have to remove that pin in the pic toddie linked to).
Not sure if the GU came with them or not. A great bit of kit imo, allows the suspension to do its thing to the max..
Here is a link to a few pics of my 2" ome kit flexing to nearly max.
