Hi All,

Im toying of the idea of fitting a shaker scoop to my 03 4.8 Patrol.

I know it might sound weird to a few but in my mind I think it would look OK.

I have seen the scoop setups for BA/BF Falcons so thought about buying one and modifying to fit the patrol. I could also run an intake to the airbox as I dont do many, if any deep water crossings.

Anyone have any ideas about this? I realise that opinions WILL vary but Im throwing it out there to see if anyone may have tried similar or can foresee anything I dont.

Cheers

How will you mount the scoop? The original shakers were mounted to the top of the air filter.

Running it straight to the air box could be disastrous if you ever did that one crossing and if you shouldn't let the airflow straight into the engine bay as I believe you could end up with overheating issues simply because you would be over pressurising the engine bay which slows the flow of cool air coming in from the front! I wouldn't do it although might look cool.

Your best bet is probably fit a snorkel or as Rotto stated No good for off road use....I ran twin GU scoops on my other 4x4,350 Chev with central open air filter dual fuel
but really had to pick which tracks to do, it does restrict you
