Hi all

I've finally located the vacuum leak on the patrol and it's either at the seam between the top and bottom halves of the intake or it's actually where the manifold joins the head. Its somewhere close to the rear end of the block. Either way ill be pulling it all off to replace gaskets and was wondering if there was anything specific that I needed to know? There's alot of bits and pieces connected to it, does anyone have pointers they want to give me?

Take pics and watch it when undoing the manifold bolts... not so bad on the intake side more so on the exhaust side snapping bolts.

Not that hard a job and as long as you pay attention to the vacume lines you should be right..

Taking pictures is a great idea. Will be sure to do that. Will be putting new gaskets in, but will like to add a liquid gasket as well just to be sure. But I haven't yet found a sealant that is both fuel and oil resistant. Can anyone point me to the right stuff?

Hi all, if anyone is interested, I'll post pictures of my efforts. Ended up pulling off the intake and replacing the gasket and also the collector gasket. Horrible, horrible job, but the engine runs super smooth. So much infact that at idle I barely hear it running. No more puff, puff sounds at the exhaust anymore. Vacuum leak sorted. Even engine temps are lower. Everything has vastly improved. Very happy with the end result. If anyone needs some pointers, just ask.
