ok so i did a fault code scan today and found a 0102 code now does that mean its a maf or a ecm as i have no accelerator control car just idles didnt think a maf would make that happen

ps. i also did a maf test and i have no pwer at the red wire but have power at the wite just no at the right specs

What voltage did you have in the white wire? was that pin 2 or pin 4 at the MAF sensor?

Did you check the voltages for the MAF sensor at the ECU? Did you check for a short to ground or open circuit in the wire harness between the MAF and ECU?

I recommend you clear the code and reset the ECU then go for a drive. If the code resets then follow the workshop manual flow chart.

i did the check at the maf plug near air cleaner
voltage on pn 2 was about 5 on pin 4 was only 9 when should b battery voltage of 12.9v
ho do i check for a shortt ground or open circuit in the harness ????
and how do i reset the ecu ??? i have cleared all codes tho

Pin 4 should be around 12 volts with the ignition on.

There is an ECU relay above the fuse box inside the vehicle that could be causing this.

Try swapping it with a relay of the same colour, from memory the A/C one under the bonnet.

Then recheck the voltage at pin 4.

If voltage is still low check all the earth wires on the engine. Undo them, clean them and refit.

ok so i just went out and did a quick check and my relay seams to be in the same spot as the tb45 but i swaped with the a/c one and gave the car a start after clearing the code and i have power at both white ones but i dont have any reading at the red wire does that mean it caput

What voltage do you have at pins 2 & 4 now?

pin 2 4.9v - 5.0v
pin 4 12.8v - 13.2v
dont think the relay fixed that think i just was earthing the meater wrong lol

That's good. These are the earths you need to check, remove, clean and refit.

Then with the MAF disconnected make sure continuity exist between pin 3 and the engine ground.

cheers mate ill have a look tomorrow and get back to ya
ya dont think the maf is stuffed thats what ppl have been telling me ???

If you want to take a guess........yes it's a very good chance your MAF is stuffed.

If the red wire has no voltage.

It could also be a wiring fault.

ok so got a new maf engine light has gone out and no codescome up but still wont rev. every time i press down on the acel i can hear a fast electronic tic noise comingh from the fuel pump realese the pedal and the noise stops ect could it be the pump giving up ????
