hey all im just wondering what are some of the symptoms of a worn out fuel pump ????


my zd30 will only idle but if i press the pedal it will stall after a few second:smileyvault-cute-bi revs dont increse tho and if i press the pump plunger on the filter its soft when engine is runnig but when its off after a few presses it goes hard ??? im confused :1087:

Unfortunately it sounds the same as mine was before i had my pump replaced. Hope it works out for you mate.

Have you changed your filter lately
if so maybe air getting in

nuh i havent i did a scan today and found a few fault codes cleared them and then started it same thing so re scanned and the same one keeps coming up for the MAF tested the MAF and no voltage detected at the red wire so might b a MAF im going to change pump anyways

is the many problems with the pumps fryinmg in the zd30 or the plundger filter side ????

Sounds exactly mine when it died . Check your error codes they will reveal a dead pump.

I have changed the pump but its still doing it I have started to completely rebuild the engine

Ah the injector pump ? Or the filter housing with the lift pump to prime ?

Nuh I have replace all them items but its still doing it so now im going to completely rebuild the engine

not your tps? my tps got flooded and done similar things

Nuh I uave had all the sensors changed but its still doing it even mtq cant work it out

Sounds a bit radical to rebuild the entire engine. Are there any other issues for you to go that far? If it is just a sensor - unless you replace everything - it may still not go right even after the rebuild. Could be something as silly as a perished vacuum hose.

Yeah I know its abit over the top I have found out that the head had a hole in it and had a blown head gasket I wanna b safe rather than sorry so im doing every thing allready replaced pump and sensors so was going to do injection system but decided to pull the head of while I was at it to change the gasket as I have no service history on the car and wanted look at the head and pistons and well now im rebuilding it lol so how it all works when its back togetehr andone know about what hoses cant be braided as I was going to do every hose under the bonnet
