GU Grille

Evening All,
Has anyone tried to remove a grill without busting off the two lower lugs and the one attached to the Datsun badge? I have to remove my thermo fan - that's another hassle. Can't find an after market one anywhere :mad:

I have a series one GU, had the grille out heaps of times and never had a issue busting clips.

Are you talking about the clips that attach the grille to the headlights ?

Are you putting a long flat blade screwdriver in the clip slot (you can see from the front) and turning to release ?

I have the Ti model, and the factory roo bar doesn't allow a screwdriver clean access to the clip slot (unless of course the truck has been "nudged" in the past...). I got jack of the lack of progress and cut the clips off. Replaced the thermo with one from the wreckers and used stainless socket cheese head screws in lieu of the clips. Happy with that. Cheers.
