Will the pre filter from an earlier td42 fit in my 92?
In picture they look the same except for no hole in the top?
And I can get a few of em cheaply and would like to just cut out a hole in the top and glue habit of foam on like proper? Cheap bastard:-)

From 1988 to 1997 will all fit. Not it is a per filter only and is not rated to filter air in a primary basis.

The filter out of a later model GUIVtD42Ti use a primary filter in a very similar ox and it will fit in that box. A little snug but goes in.

Mud why does mine have a hole in the middle and the earlier ones don't?
Don't bother cutting the hole out you wreckon?
Just got no bread and really need a pre filter atm and this is a cheap way out fear me...cheers buds.

says its a 16546-06J10 of 87/89 and the top is deffo capped?

Yeah man a link to pic off pre filter 89 maverick.
The parts are Nissan and are capped at the top I have searched Google and no threads of earlier filters into 42 only later....:1087:
