View Full Version : Removal of the ugly decals

Today was the day I have been looking forward to for the last 3 weeks.

Anytime I have had free I have been out the back with the WD40, the missus hair dryer and a plastic blade slowly heating and ripping the ugly decals off the truck. Bloody glad to see them gone to be honest.

All in all it probably took 8 man hours, 3 packs of durrys and a whole lot of expletives.

Now to start tweeking the mechanics of it before it hits 400k and get her on the tracks.

We used to use dental floss on motor bike decals

Nice work! How did you go removing the pin stripe? I'll be removing it from my gq shortly, but it looks like it isn't going anywhere.

Definately looks better mate. Some of the decals they put on cars are fairly out there hey!?

Just one of those pain in the butt job that needs doing.
100% on on what it was, Metho or 3M goo remover will remove any glue residue.
Fishing line foe newer style badges.

I used a pressure washer - they came off easily.

from a auto paint shop get a stripe removal wheel. it goes in your drill and takes off stripes with no residue left. just a quick clean up.
