Tappas... Wtf?

So I'm up here at Lakes Entrance for the weekend with my dad. We got invited to some trial night one of the cafes is starting Tappas and wanted opinions. Well you can imagine the type of people there. They like everything before it was cool but were all wearing the same types of clothes and had the same haircut? Me and dad were so out of place there, shorts tshirt and thongs we were a bit shunned. But the food was awesome. I'd say the beer was awesome too but we were only allowed two beers and none of it was VB! WTF! Such an awkward evening........

Best tapas I've ever had was in a town called San Sebastian in the northern region of Spain..........

Oh and tapas is not generally served in a posh restaurant...... I've only ever had then in bars with plenty of beer to wash it down.........bewdiful

Oh well got the plate for myself. And they were all drinking wine. I felt out of place with a CD stubbie. But I feel out of place with any beer other than VB

You beat me to it about the VB.

And yes, tapas, or the name at least, originated in Spain and it basically is finger food. The Spanish love a drink and so Tapas are traditionally served in a bar to line the stomach while drinking. Not really much different to finger food most people have early on at a party or BBQ. Trendy cafes and restaurants got ahold of the idea and started calling a couple of plates of entree style food served in the afternoon/early evening 'Tapas' in order to attract trendy people.
