hello, can anybody tell me how many km is the lifetime of the timing chain of a TB42?, is the same for the oil pump chain?.
I donīt know if I need to change it every xxx km or if I have to see and check it.

The TB42's are chain driven, and I think its a standard to change out around the 150thou km mark.
The TD42 is all gear driven so no need to change anything.

I always thought the TB42s had a timing chain .......... But I am often wrong in these matters so I best shut up now. ;)

Righteo, just checked me Haynes manual and according to that, RB30s are belt, TB42s are chain and TD42s are gears

What you tapin at!!!!!????

Ow.. there you go.. sorry mate. Are the TB's an ohc? Or side like the TD's?

Edit, just checked my manual and its off to the side like the td motor. Weird....

All I know is the tb42s are overhead valve

Yes, over head valves, not cam. Were finally on the same page..
