Couple questions.

Hey fellow patrolites.
I had a vibrating noise coming from the front of my car when going over 80 after engaging 4wd to explore some random tracks. I found that it was due to me forgetting to unlock the hubs, it was like that for about a week. Would it have done any significant damage to the front end?
Also I'm wanting to get a turbo in the future but considering the price I'm going to slowly get the parts together. If I got a 3" exhaust on it before anything else would that adversely affect the power of the TD42? I don't really have a great deal of that to spare. :-P

I'm a bit confused! Were the hubs locked or unlocked when going over 80kph?

Locked, but it was in 2wd

Hi Brenda - not really - it will cause more wear but I know heaps of people who drive with their front hubs locked. In fact its good to lock them and leave in 2wd to lube up the parts periodically.

I wouldn't worry mate, all good. At least the front got a good lub...LOL

I drove like that for a week as well and no damage

Did over 300,000 mix conditions with fronts locked when new.. including blacktop..
Wears everything evenly, and Just uses more fuel..

It would give it a bit more poke but a waste if getting a turbo later create a build plan work to build it once get it right no compromise
