Aircon fan only works on NO. 4?

Gday guys,

So My aircon fan only works on setting 4 this only started Friday. Friday morning we headed in to town for the 4wd show and air con fan worked as normal all 1-4 settings working great! Then get in it to come home and now only setting 4 works? I have a 2003 GU wagon.. Anyone got any idea what it could be?

The interior fan resistor has blown.

This controls fans speeds 1,2 & 3.

It's also a good idea to remove the interior fan motor and make sure nothing is stuck in it and the fan spins freely.

If it is stiff this can cause the resistor to blow.

Yep!! 2 screws and it popes out. Just pop your head under the passengers side ;-).

Yep just replace it. It's mounted behind the glovebox in the air duct.

In the photo you can see the brown connector for it, on the right just off centre.

You don't need to remove the glovebox to gain access to it.
