Sitting in the lounge after wetting down the house and shed. Family is stuck in town until all clear. The fire started a few ks away and headed sth, so Our place is safe. A few friends were evacuated and I'm packed, ready to go, yet again

Just heard that Dimboola is copping it now. My family was able to come home and I think the danger has subsided here. Just waiting for radio to report fire is under control, for peace of mind. My hat is off to the fire fighters, they do a magnificent job. Thanks for your posts fellas. for some reason my thanks button ain't there.

Just an update, the fire warning has been downgraded to watch and act. I hope tomorrow is cooler. The whole area is so dry.

Thanks fellas. I feel as if we've dodged a bullet. Our fire plan is to get into town. But we've decided to upgrade our fire fighting equipment, just in case we get caught here. It was a phone call from town that alerted me of the fire. The bloke next door had no idea, either, until I called. Unless you see it for yourself, you don't know how quick the wind can change and make a small fire into an life threatening situation. Apparently a wind change will hit us at midnight, so I will be on the lookout. Cheers
