View Full Version : GU8 standard suspension with steel bullbar - how much will the nose drop?

Hi All,

My better half said I can go ahead buying the GU8 :Yahoo!: however with not much to spare beyond the purchase price I may need to put the suspension lift etc etc a bit later (as usual we'll gradually build it over several years). So, Question 1: does anybody know how much the nose will drop if I put the bull bar (steel, either original equipment or ARB one)?

I'm also tossing whether I should swap the tyres to slightly taller spec with LT construction:
- Question 2: has anybody done the swap at purchase (so we drive away already with the upgraded tyres)
- Question 3: who has just upgraded with slightly bigger exhaust (no chipping) and has been happy with the improvements (my thought is to compensate for the power loss if I put on 275/70R17 instead of the standard factory tyre size of 275/65R17)?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Jon

I have a GU8 bought November last year. I had the steel bullbar installed about two weeks after taking delivery of the car. I did not notice any difference at all. The car still has factory suspension. Not for much longer though.....

At a guess the front would only drop by a couple of mm so not noticeable. If you can sell your suspension new you have a chance to recover more money for the new setup

You could talk to your dealer regarding the tyres, when I bought mine they said no we cant change tyres but some on here were successful getting Nissan to do so.

I have put a beaudesert 2.75 exhaust and it was the best mod I have ever done. Lots will agree with the CRD and 2.75 beaudesert working really well. I have no chip and don't intend on getting one as I don't need it.
