Hi Guys and gals
Just to introduce myself I am located in the Riverland of Sth Aust which is a Fruit growing, mainly Wine grape growing area on the River Murray.
I owned a MQ diesel and at the moment own a GQ Diesel (non turbo).
I have had a great run out of these two patrols with no problems.
I am looking at upgrading to a 98 GU TB45 manual with LPG and a little over 200K
What do you guys recon good vehicle and if so anything to look out for?
Also does running on LPG cause any problems with the engine.
Would like to stick with a 4.2 tubo model but budget does allow me.
Cheers All

Bob

I run a 98 4.5 on Dual Fuel.
Make sure that it is tuned by a LPG Specialist and run a Tank of ULP through it on a regular basis.
Thirsty on Petrol but economical of LPG
Love my 4.5L

Hi Mate and welcome PM Bob he has exactely what you are after, and I know he wouldn't change it for all the tea in China.
Also Big fella is the same, a bit thirsty on fuel when pushed hard but plenty of power on tap.

Welcome Rob and if the 1950 is what I think it means your more than welcome With regards your proposed 4.5 on LPG you should always start it on LPG and then manually switch over to gas when the engine reaches normal operating temp--a bit of a pain but you get used to it. The benefits are as your running ulp through the engine your fuel pump wont shit it self and your injectors will work better--in fact I do short trips around 20K's I'm rural like you- on ulp and use LPG on longer trips. I cannot stress the importance of using fuel regularly together with LPG and make sure to get it set up by a proper LPG specialist. Regards Grumbo
